Wisteria pruned in Berkhamsted

Wisteria pruning

Wisteria are very popular plants but often people are unsure as to how to prune them to get the best out of these spectacular climbers. Pruned and trained properly, a beautiful wisteria can hugely increase the appeal and value of your house.

Wisteria pruning is a specialist job that not all gardeners will undertake. As well as pruning, we can also provide effective and strong supports which are almost invisible.  Wisteria need to be pruned twice a year; once in late Summer and once whilst dormant in mid-Winter. If your wisteria is very overgrown, we undertake renovations as well as regular care. One of the main causes of wisteria not flowering to their full potential comes down to proper pruning and training. If sunlight can't get to the flower buds, they won't ripen and flower, so keeping it thinned out and correctly trained is key. We can also advise on feeding and other aspects of care.

If you would like to discuss your wisteria then please get in touch - ideally with a photograph and your location. Also you can take a look at the blog page for more detail on how to tackle a wisteria

We work in Berkhamsted, Tring, Harpenden, St Albans, Luton and other local areas.
