A garden for outdoor living
This house with its grey-painted brick, sits on the very edge of town where the fields begin. The client is a passionate gardener who spends all her time outdoors. She wanted to be gardening or relaxing in a hot tub or in front of the fireplace on the beautiful patio under the pergola, so the design had to pack a lot in, while being elegant and generous in its proportions.

The greenhouse is the heart of the garden where the client could indulge her love of plants. Access past the greenhouse was important, reaching the back of the garden where a beauty salon is nestled amongst trees and plants. My client wanted her clients to have a beautiful walk to the salon, as well as a gorgeous view of planting to enjoy while having a beauty treatment.

A built in fireplace with carpentry designed to complement the outdoor kitchen is the focal point of the lounging area.

A newly planted hedge with roses trained onto obelisks provides delineation along the boundary without blocking the view over the fields

In order to be able to enjoy as much time as possible outside, a pergola was designed to cover the patio. The existing wisteria will be trained to rest on the pergola, providing fabulous coverage in summer but casting no shade in winter. A herringbone section of patio anchors the furniture and zones the relaxation areas.
